I just downloaded the mobile app for the forum software and I must say it works pretty good. Just wanted to make sure everyone knew their was an easier way to access the boards from your phone. Here's a link to the iPhone/iPad app information - www.proboards.com/iphone-mobile-forum-appand here's a link to the Android app information - www.proboards.com/android-mobile-forum-appThe cost is $3, which isn't bad either.

I was going to download it. Just didn't want to spend the money (I know it isn't that much) if it wasn't going to work. Thanks for the update.

I was thinking the same, but it works. The one thing that doesn't work for it is Facebook authentication, but if you type in your username and password for the forum it will remember the login and you don't have to re-enter it. It's like other smartphone forum software I've used. It gets the job done.

Does your app give you alerts when something is posted? I have had no alerts yet. Maybe I have to subscribe to threads to get alerts?

No alerts when you posted your response. I'll subscribe to this thread and see what happens...

I'm finding using the forums as the normal web version on my phone is working well. I'm also using a Droid RAZR with its huge screen and true Verizon 4G speed. Using it on a small display I could see it being cumbersome. Check to see if any settings on your account is keeping you from getting notifications. I'd assume it would only work on threads you subscribe to, that's how its ever been on any other forum I've been involved with.

Just went through my notification settings on my iPhone and it doesn't even show pro boards as an available app to receive notification alerts from. I don't think it's a capability of pro boards... Oh well.

I installed ProBoard app for my HTC EVO 4G and the software works well, however, as you all have pointed out there doesn't seem to be any type of alert system built into it. I went through all the menus I could find.

For quick browsing, I really like the "Unread" feature to catch up on what i missed and to take a quick look but for anything serious I'll go back to the full website.
Ok, time for a pizza

Is there even a subscribe option on the normal website? I'd be nice to be able to track threads so I don't forget about them.

no there is not, however the mobile app has a "participated" tab and lists only the posts you've contributed to.

I take that back, the website does have a "bookmark" option at the top and bottom of each thread and then you can access the bookmarks through your profile.
