Hi,
If you had to limit yourself to one camera and one lens, what would these be? For me it would be a Nikon D750 and the Nikkor 24-120 F4 VR. The high ISO and VR capability of the D750 help compensate for the limitations of an F4, and while the 24-120 has its deficiencies, some of these are easily corrected in Lightroom. This combination makes possible wide range of photographic styles: Landscape, documentary, portrait, street even, in a pinch, sports.
