I took this photo looking up Front Street in Toronto with my wife's Nikon S8200 point and shoot: Front Street by engineerd, on Flickr I chose the S8200 because, of the P&S cameras I could get with credit card points, it had the best ratings on a variety of sites (B&H, Adorama, etc.). It is a very nice camera and does a great job in general. However, probably due to its very high zoom (14x), it has some lens distortion, as you can see. No, buildings in Toronto aren't falling over. Last night I played with the Lens Correction section of the Develop screen in LR4 and corrected the distortion as you can see. It's pretty amazing how good of a job it did. I just played with the "Vertical" slider until I got everything standing straight up. Then I adjusted the crop and - abracadabra! - no more vertical distortion. I then saved the lens correction profile so I can apply it quickly in the future. Front Street - Distortion Corrected by engineerd, on Flickr

Yeah that tool is pretty nice. Worked really nice on yours. The only downfall is that you loose a little bit of image. I now intentionally shoot a little bit wider now when I know my lines are going to to be slanted so I don't loose as much of the composition when using that tool.

I really like LR4. I love that you can make adjustments, save them as a preset, and then use them on new imported files. I have lens correction for all of my lenses and they get applied during file import. Makes the path to final edit much shorter.
Nice job Dustin! Like Karl pointed out, I try my best to leave a margin area for editing. It allows leveling, lens correction, and to make sure I'm not cutting something off if I have it printed to canvas where part of the image is warped to create the frame edge.
