I took this on vacation a couple weekends ago in Toronto. I did some post-processing in Lightroom to brighten up the foreground and make the sky not so washed out. Critques? Front Street by engineerd, on Flickr

Nice job with the highlight recovery and fill light. It looks natural. It doesn't look like an edit so i would say you succeeded in that. Too many people go way too far with the fill light and the lighting just looks flat, even and unnatural when it shouldnt and doesn't in real life. Yours is perfect (IMHO).
Lightroom has that nice adjustment tool for straightening out tall vertical lines that are distorted by wide angle lenses.. Thats a pretty nice tool for straightening out the leaning buildings.
How was Toronto? I'm always there for work but never downtown.

I'll have to play around with that tool! Thanks for the feedback. That fill tool was amazing, and you're right...it was a little work getting it so that everything wasn't black but didn't look flat, either.
It was great. I had a nasty cold most of the time, but we got to get out and see the city. Went to the Royal Ontario Museum one day, which was really cool, and did a harbor...er, harbour...cruise, CN Tower, and Steam Whistle Brewery Tour one day. That was a busy day. There was a Zombie Walk, too. That was fun to watch.
