Nice pictures, Jennifer! The more I understand photography, the more I admire subtle lighting. The three middle pictures are excellent examples of this. They remind me of one of my favorite photographers on Flickr, a Japanese person who goes by alleys. His photostream is here: www.flickr.com/photos/13979030@N02/Compare the middle three pics to his images. There are some similarities. Thanks for your insight, Tim, I appreciate the link too - I'm definitely going to spend some time checking him out

Levi, my 10 year old rescue doberman stopped long enough on our walk today for me to snap this photo of him.

Thanks Charles for posting the step by step instructions on how to post photos... not taking the "s" off of the http was my issue. These the wife and my kids... the little guy "Kody" is a 3yr old miniature poodle and he has show dogs in his lineage with names like "Red Copper Penny" and I think "Sir Poops Alot III". Kody is very smart and tends to be a smart ass like his owner. The big funny acting girl is our 2 yr old standard poodle "Khloe". She is very hyper and is a super athlete that would make Barry Sanders do a double take I am going to have to capture her in action before she starts slowing down. In this set it was a pretty ugly day when I took my pooches out early that morning. Usually I put more of an effort to photograph them but I just wanted to capture the moment and that took high ISOs and well timed photos. I managed to convince my little guy Kody to go down this slide for the first time while Khloe watches in horror (or snickers). Typically Khloe will go down any slide since we taught her about a couple months ago. However she wasn't having it. These pics look a bit nuked on my screen now that I am posting them.. the exposure was tricky for me to nail that day. I was shooting from 1000-2500iso because it was fairly dark on that overcast morning.

Great photos!! Next to doberman, full size poodles are one of my favorite breeds. They are very intelligent. They like a challenge and train well. Like doberman breed, they really need to be worked and continuously trained...or...they will train you, sometime without you even noticing! I'm sure you already know that having them.

Thanks Eric, You have a good looking doberman, I would've never guessed he was 10 years old. He is a "rescue doberman"? Some people might try to die first seeing that guy coming at them due to the reputation. I had an amazingly loving pitbull for a bunch of years, so I know all about it. Yes Khloe (standard) is a handful and she has a entirely different personality than Kody (miniature), so I am still trying to work out how I deal with each of them. I've read this and it is true, you can't scold standards. Khloe acts like she has no idea what is going on, meanwhile scolding works a lot more with Kody. They both keep us on our toes, finding loopholes in our plans and knowing what we are up to before we do it. We actually got these two to replace our toy poodle (passed on) that captured our hearts by playing cruel headgames with us.
